Description
Batana comes from the nut of the American oil palm, Elaeis oleifera, which grows wild in La Mosquitia, the rainforest of eastern Honduras. The nuts are roasted, ground and slowly cooked until the oil rises, the way it has been made there for generations.
We leave it unrefined and add nothing to it: the bottle holds 100% batana. The deep brown colour and the roasted, coffee-like scent are signs that nothing has been stripped out. The dropper puts it exactly where it does the most good: on the scalp.
Pure batana thickens when it is cool, like coconut oil. If it does, stand the bottle in a bowl of warm water for a minute and it flows again.
